0709-0147		 GRUEBY POTTERY VASE having a vertical leafage pattern, yellow ground in French matte finish. Height 9.50 in., diameter 7.50 in. Incised underfoot Grueby Faience Co. Boston, U.S.A. with company logo. Founded by William H. Grueby (1867-1925), the company began in 1894 and vases were made beginning 1898 until bankruptcy forced closure in 1909. Grueby emerged until market conditions forced permanent closure in 1920. Condition Report
