A RARE MICMAC INDIAN COVERED ROUND BASKET c.1820's. Known for their porcupine quill work on birch bark and cedar boxes, this basket with star design on cover is 5.50" diameter, 3.50" tall. N.B. From time immemorial the Micmacs have occupied the lands south and east of the Gulf of St. Lawrence & along the Atlantic seaboard of the U.S.

  • Condition: 621: The basket shows moderate wear, the top of the lid is loose, a 1-1/2" section is chipped and the basket shows some discoloration and broken strands.
