Description:

LOUIS ICART (New York, N.Y., 1888-1950) etching and aquatint, "Bird of Prey," a World War I image of a bare-breasted French woman fighting the German imperial eagle with a branch, circa 1918. Pencil signed lower right, edition number 70/100 lower left. Image measures 18.5" x 12.75". In a wood frame; 34.25" x 25.5" overall. Provenance: purchased from an estate in Pouzol, Auvergne France in 2002.

  • 418: The print shows toning and foxing to the paper. It has not been examined outside of the fame.
